MEMORANDUM OF ASSOCIATION OF “THE SOCIETY FOR FREE RADICAL RESEARCH – INDIA”

1. NAME OF THE SOCIETY:
The name of the Society shall be “THE SOCIETY FOR FREE RADICAL RESEARCH – INDIA”
2. ADDRESS OF THE SOCIETY:
The Registered Office of the Society shall be for the time being at C/o. Address of Dr. T.P.A. Devasagayam, Cell Biology Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Trombay, Mumbai 400 085.
3. AIMS AND OBJECTS OF THE SOCIETY:
- To foster an improved understanding of radical species and related oxidants and reductants.
- To promote the development of mechanistic approaches to the chemist of harmful oxygen and nitrogen species and the consequences of their actions in biology and medicine.
- To support and encourage the transfer of basic knowledge to the health profession.
- To advance balanced approach to understand both the advantageous and the deleterious properties of various oxygen and nitrogen species.
- To conduct research in free radicals and antioxidants with particular reference to those processes of industrial and medical importance for the benefit of the public.
- To organize conferences and workshops to educate policy makers and programme planners and also to educate health professionals, news media and the public.
- To run libraries having scientific literatures related to Free Radical and Antioxidants and to publish books literature etc.
- To carry out all such activities which will promote the above-mentioned objects.
